I grew up in a small town where everyone knew one another and watched out for one another’s families; that included supporting our neighbors’ businesses. Back then we didn’t have “chains” and choices were limited. What we lacked in variety was made up for in integrity and customer service. We liked local then and still do. We want to know where our food comes from and so should you. Good food, drink, ingredients, and service the way it’s supposed to be.
From our Maine Wood Heat custom fabricated former demonstration oven to our pizza crusts using Maine Grains, we think local is better. When something breaks or you have a question, you get a voice, often the owner on the phone. We like knowing who grows our crops, who mills our grain, who builds our ovens, and who eats our pizzas. We love good conversation and connection, isn’t that at the heart of local? We like to put names with faces and create a hub of economic activity for those close to where we serve.

There’s no replacement for a positive attitude and great work ethic. We can teach you what you need to know if you have a passion to learn, are customer focused, team oriented, and enjoy working hard and playing hard. We did say we like to have fun, didn’t we? Daily belly laughs are a must. We’re fair and generous when we find the right people that work as hard as we do and are willing to do whatever it takes to create great experiences for our customers.
We think less is more. We like to let honest, great-tasting ingredients speak for themselves, which is not to say we don’t get adventurous – we do. We’re not aiming for fast food, so be patient, relax and enjoy the great outdoors with no added chemicals, preservatives or stuff you don’t need. Just good food the way it’s meant to be.
